Palm, 83 year old resident of Swanville, MN passed away Monday, May 31, 2010 at Long Prairie Hospital in Long Prairie, MN. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Community Country Church in rural Holdingford, MN with Pastor Roland Jennings officiating. Burial will be in the South Elmdale Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Francis L. Palm was born on May 11, 1927 in Swanville, Minnesota to the late Albert & Florence (Stoll) Palm. Francis attended grade school in Burtrum and in Swanville. Francis served in the U.S Army from 1954 to 1956. He was united in marriage to Sandra L. Smith on September 4, 1976 in Swanville. Francis was a life-long dairy farmer who treated the land he farmed on with the utmost respect. He enjoyed gardening and John Deere tractors. Francis is survived by his sisters, Judy (Ray) Heisick of Upsala, MN, Betty (Andy) Staricka of Upsala, MN and Leona (Henry) Niemeyer of Long Prairie, MN; brothers, Glen (Arlene) Palm of Swanville, MN, Scotty (Darlene) Palm of Swanville, MN and David Palm of Swanville, MN; many nieces and nephews. Francis was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sandra; brother, Herbert Palm; sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Joyce Palm. Pallbearers will be Joe Staricka, Dan Koehn, Gary Palm, Josh Knudtson, Nathan Knudtson and Roger Ganz. Arrangements are with Shelley-Gibson Funeral Chapel in Swanville, MN.
