Name: Lawrence "Pete" Rosty Date: February 15th, 1928 - June 7th, 2010 Obituary: Lawrence was born February 15, 1928 in Burnhamville Township, Todd County, Minnesota, to the late Elmer & Anna (Johnson) Rosty. He was united in marriage to Lorraine Marie Kruetzer on August 26, 1950. Lawrence worked as a butter maker at the Elmdale and Randall Creameries and an operator/manager at the Leader Creamery. He also was employed by Central McGowan Welding Supply Company prior to owning and operating “Falls Servisoft” water conditioning business for 25 years. Lawrence enjoyed summer and winter fishing, gardening, dancing, camping, deer hunting, traveling, and loved spending time with his family and friends. Following retirement he made and sold ice fishing spears, tongs, and ice chisels. Lawrence always had fresh garden produce for sale. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Little Falls, MN. Lawrence is survived by his wife Lorraine of 60 years; daughters, Kathy (Mike) Tomczik of St. Cloud, MN and Renee (Mike) Christensen of Hudson, WI; grandchildren, Lance & Tonya Classen, Kurt Scepaniek, Ben & Jennifer Christensen; great-grandchildren, Emily, Katelynn, Gavin, Reese, Keenan, and Cody; sisters-in-law, Helen Rosty of Casper, WY and Arlene Rosty of Columbia Heights, MN; brother-in-law, Marvin Mueller of Faribault, MN; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ervin, Clifford, and Norman; sisters, Dorothy Mueller and Lila Johnson; and nephew, John Johnson. Active Pallbearers: Grandsons, Kurt Scepaniak and Ben Christensen; nephews, Loren Johnson, Randy Rosty, Steve Rosty; grand-nephew, Steve Johnson. Honorary Pallbearer: Lance Classen (grandson) who is serving in his 21st year with the United States Army (currently stationed in Honduras). In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Unity Family Hospice and Home Care Program of the Mary Martha Circle of Zion Lutheran Church.
