Karen was born February 9, 1942 in Hills, MN to the late Dana and Irene Fleming. She grew up in Hills, MN and later in Atwater, MN. She graduated from the Atwater High School in 1960 and that fall the family moved to Randall, MN. Karen attended St. Cloud State University for one year. She was united in marriage to Jack C. Andersen on August 18, 1962 at First Lutheran Church in Little Falls, MN. The couple moved to Minneapolis, MN shortly after their marriage. They lived in Minneapolis for 14 years, working and raising their family. In 1976, they returned to Randall, MN and owned the Randall Café until 1991. Karen was employed at Larson Boats in Little Falls for 11 years. In 2003, they moved to Little Falls, MN. Karen retired in 2005 from Larson’s. The couple co-drove charter busses for three years, primarily taking groups on mission trips to Mexico. They worked out of a make shift clinic in the dump of Juarez, Mexico taking care of the people living there. Her passion for the Lord was evident to all who knew her. Every day she read the Bible, prayed and grew closer to the Lord. She was a ‘people person’ who enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting with friends. Karen enjoyed all birds and animals. Her favorites were Fancy Face and Sophie. She also enjoyed growing flowers, shopping and reading.
Karen F. Andersen is survived by her husband, Jack C. Andersen; son, Jasen (Christy) Andersen of Little Falls, MN; daughter, Andrea (Walt) Lambrecht of Sauk Rapids, MN; brother, Paul (Doloros) Fleming of Plymouth, MN; 4 grandchildren, Walter, Ben and Jacob Lambrecht and Victoria Andersen.
