Releasing my white dove gave me such a feeling that I had just released Richard of all his trials and troubles of the last couple of years. That really helped me alot. He was a special brother-in-law.

  • Steve, Thank you so much for the kindness extended to my family during this very difficult time. Even though you weren’t able to be there, I know the excellent service provided by Kyle, was largely in part due to the guidance he has received from you. He is an extraordinary young man with a very special gift. I always tell people what an incredible service Shelley Funeral Chapels has provided at every funeral I have attended and this was no exception. Thank you for all you do.

  • Shelley Funeral Chapels' very kind and competent funeral director, Terry Nelson, placed a dove in the hands of each of those closest family members who wished to do the dove release...After the "flying on the wings of doves" reading, all of us holding doves released them together. For me, this experience was beautiful, poignant, and a perfect mix of sadness in losing my dad and father-in-law, and at the same time, the tearful joy of wishing them "Godspeed" on their flight from our world into the afterlife. The sound of the bird's wings as they were released, and the artistry of their dance across the sky, will remain vivid in my memory as my personal, symbolic metaphor for saying a final goodby to those two most important men whom I respected, loved and profoundly miss. • To everyone at Shelley's, Thank-you for the beautiful Christmas Service of Remembrance. Also for the delicious dinner at the VFW. Everyone made us feel so welcome and my heart is now full of love and hope.
