    May 2, 1947 - March 3, 2021

    Emma Jean Knopik, 73 year old resident of Swanville, MN passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, March 8, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Swanville, MN with Father Ron Dockendorf officiating. Burial will take place in Springbrook Cemetery in Swanville, MN. A visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 P.M. on Sunday and from 11:00-12:00 P.M. on Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Swanville, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family. Funeral arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Swanville, MN. She grew up in the Swanville area where she attended and graduated from High School. Emma Jean was united in marriage to Richard Knopik on August 28, 1967 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Swanville, MN. She was employed as a beautician for many years as well as assisting her husband on the farm and raising her four children. Emma Jean enjoyed tending to her vegetable gardens and flower beds. She also loved reading, working on puzzles and watching the birds at her home. Emma Jean also assisted her son Steve buy, sell and manage his extensive toy and antique collections. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that always enjoyed her time spent visiting or shopping with her family. Emma Jean took great pride in manicuring her massive lawn at her home. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Swanville, MN. Emma was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Emma Jean is survived by her husband, Richard Knopik of Swanville, MN; children, David (Susan) Knopik of Apple Valley, MN, Sheryl (Henry Chang) Knopik of Edina, MN, Jill (Jason) Loven of Medina, MN and Steve Knopik of Swanville, MN; siblings, Collette (Vernon) Ehrenberg of Swanville, MN and Curtis Yort of Moose Lake, MN; grandchildren, Emily Loven, Alyssa Loven, Claudia and Sophia Chang, Sam Knopik, Maya Loven, Sarah Knopik, and Andrew Chang. Emma Jean was preceded in death by parents, Gordon and Gertrude Yort and sister, Sandy Goldenstin.
