Matthew "Matt" James Conrad Spiess

Matthew “Matt” James Conrad Spiess, 39 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at his home. A Memorial Service is planned for a later date. Memorials are preferred to his son Landon Spiess’s trust fund and can be sent to Becky Court, 2610 119th Street NW, Rice, MN 56367. Caring for Matt and his family is the Shelley Funeral Chapel of Little Falls, MN. Matt had an infectious smile and Holy Moly could he sell anything and everything. He enjoyed anything monster truck-related and had built several over his lifetime. Besides the love he had for his son Landon, he enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in Nashwauk, MN, fishing with Grandpa Bill and boy, he loved helping Grandma Gladys (choo-choo) with her yard work. He also enjoyed a good card game of 7-up with the family. He had a real knack for goofing around and making you smile. Matt was employed with Oleson Tree Service on and off over the course of 14 plus years and the owners, Brian and Julia were like family to him. Matt is survived by his son, Landon Spiess (Amanda Erickson); uncles, Michael (Ginny) Spiess of Riverfalls, WI, Gerald (Evelyn) Spiess of Minneapolis, MN, Larry Kay of Little Falls, MN, Dennis Kay of Minneapolis, MN, Gene Kay of Little Falls, MN, Jerry Kay (Bernice) of Bethel, MN and Kevin Kruzel; aunts, Anita Harrington of Lydia, MN, Lelia (Brian) Skarboe of Gaylord, MN, Donna (Tom) Piastuck of Florida, Becky (Gary) Court of Rice, MN; cousins: Heather Hullihen, Tony Kruzel, Gabe Rosenkrans, Kasandra Kay, Greg Nelson, Joey Nelson, Jason Piastuck, Dan Piastuck, Tammy Nelson, Dustin Kay, Cody Steinborn, Kim Steinborn, Russell Byman, Eric Spiess, Melissa Scrimpf, Scott Spiess, Mark Spiess & Jerett Spiess; lifetime family friends and neighbors, Doug and Julia Beto for their 30 plus years of devotion, love and support to his family.
